Building things that matter.
Not everything ships as a product. Meetups, hackathons, university lectures, curriculum design — the stuff that doesn't have a revenue model but moves the industry forward.
I've been doing this stuff for 30 years. The least I can do is make sure the next generation doesn't have to figure it all out from scratch. Meetups, hackathons, lectures — none of it pays. All of it matters. The best engineers I've hired came from events like these.
University Guest Lectures
Annual guest lectures at ETH Zurich and the University of Zurich. The latest session: 114 students watched me build a complete AI application from scratch in 45 minutes — live-coded, tested, and deployed before they left the room.
BIOTS 2019 — The Record
BIOTS 2019 became the largest educational hackathon in the world. 275 students from 11 countries wrote millions of lines of code in one week. After this edition, the BIOTS program was adopted as an integral summer school of ETH Zurich.
Seed 2019 — DeFi Conference
Co-organized one of the very first DeFi-focused events — before 'DeFi Summer' was even a term. Brought together builders, researchers, and early adopters to explore decentralized finance protocols, lending platforms, and on-chain governance.
CAS Blockchain Curriculum
Co-created the CAS Blockchain curriculum — a university-level certificate program teaching blockchain fundamentals, smart contract development, and decentralized application architecture. One of the first formal academic blockchain programs in Switzerland.
Swiss LegalTech Association
Technology advisor to the Swiss LegalTech Association — connecting lawyers, entrepreneurs, and academics to shape the future of legal technology. Nearly a decade of bridging law and technology.
SFTA & Kickstart — Startup Mentoring
Mentored early-stage startups through the Swiss FinTech Association and Kickstart Accelerator — Switzerland's most ambitious multi-corporate, equity-free accelerator. Coached founders in blockchain, fintech, and technology strategy.
BIOTS 2016 — ETH Zurich
Invented the BIOTS program — Blockchain and Internet of Things School. The first edition at ETH Zurich: one week of intensive teaching by industry experts, where students built working prototypes from scratch. This was one of the earliest structured blockchain education programs in Europe.
Blockchain Meetup Switzerland
Founded and hosted the largest blockchain meetup in Switzerland. Ran events across five cities for nearly a decade — bringing developers, entrepreneurs, and enthusiasts together to learn, build, and push the technology forward. Entirely free, entirely community-driven.
